This year's theme for Burnal Equinox is "Sacred and Profane". Art installations at the event will be interpreting this theme in a variety of different ways. Event infrastructure and the main stage are using an interpretation with Emerald City and the false Wizard.
Maximum 2-hours in one performance, standard time slots are 1 hour.
Please do not change sign-ups made by other participants on the sign-up sheet.
First-time performers will need to attend a 5-minute info session at BURN2 during the week prior to the event.
Performers are expected to provide their own music stream. We recommend a minimum 50-user stream; 100-user stream is ideal. Contact the Performance Lead if you need help with this.
Performers are expected to test their music stream and make sure it works prior to their show. We provide a test area in the BURN2 sim for stream testing if needed, at the Gerlach Saloon.
Performers may rez items for their performance. These must be placed within the stage area only (14x20m oval), must not exceed 50 prims, and must be cleared out promptly after the show.
A set-up area at 500m can be used to set up your stage props prior to the show. Then you can move them to the stage by removing the "5" from the z-position of each object.
If performers use particle effects, they must not extend beyond the stage plot boundary and not exceed 2000 concurrent particles.
As with all BURN2 events, performers and artists alike must agree to the following rules for Decommodification as required by the Burning Man organization: No tip jars, no group joiners, no in-chat promotion spam, no club advertising. We do encourage you to pimp up your SL profile and to direct people there for more information.
Performers may use a variety of stage props provided by BURN2's stage, such as lighting, fire and fog effects. These will be available to preview during the week before the event.
Main stage performances will be broadcast across the whole BURN2 sim
BURN2 events always include ongoing art installations in addition to the main stage, and it is normal for visitors to mix their time between the stage and exploring the installations. The sound channel at each installation is limited to the space within their plot only. Please do not be surprised if there is activity away from the stage during your performance, as this is normal during art festivals.
